A-Level Media Bauer Magazine

These are my contact sheets from my photo shoots. This process has allowed me to acknowledge what shots are the best and what I needed in my photos in order to create a perfect photo for my magazine. These photos were shot in various locations on a canon camera. Overall, I found that shooting my photos in lighter times of the day allowed me to gather in depth photos with good lighting. My darker shots did not acknowledge detail and consequently would not appeal to a sophisticated audience type.  If I was to change my photo- taking process, I would have chosen even more locations in order to focus on different types of lighting and shot types- at different angles. Using various locations would also have allowed me to explore the needs of different social groups. 

My intended design for my second magazine design entails a female empowering magazine. This magazine should feature articles on female dominance and how women are redefining traditional stereotypes. I decided to use this intertextual reference as feminism and the changing role of women in society is a particular interest of mine and I believe that equality should be reached between men and women within society. In particular, I believe that women in the fashion industry is particularly important as women should be able to wear what they want and feel comfortable in what they choose to wear. In particular, I have aimed for a target audience of young women in professional positions in the workplace as they are facing extreme segregation from their male peers. Therefore, this issue should give them the confidence and top tips on how to feel confident and empowered by what they wear.  My initial designs show how I wanted to encourage female empowerment by using a dominant close ...

My intended design for my first magazine entails a Manchester theme. With this edition I would like to use a honey theme in order to reference the significance of the Manchester bee. Moreover, over both the front cover and contents page I would like other locations of central Manchester to be featured; in particular areas of the Northern quarter, as they appeal to a niche audience type and this consequently builds upon the individualistic and personalised design I would like to create. Subsequently, the type of fashion featured on this edition should be 'easily accessible' yet chic. This will relate to the younger demographic as they should find comfort out of designer fashion.  I have also considered some content which I would like to put into my magazine, the theme of this edition is 'Manchester fashion week' and so therefore is seen as the primary article, however, I would also like to include features to do with 'feel good fashion' and 'confidence...
